For FY 2008, $4,004,456 was appropriated to the state aid to public libraries program.  The per capita portion of this appropriation for state aid payment is calculated at $.55, a 24.5 % increase over the FY 2007 per capita rate.  This year, 166 public library districts have been certified to receive per capita state aid payments.  Certified libraries will receive a total of $2,815,975.25, which will be paid out in two payments for each library.  A list of library districts and payments amounts is posted on the State Library Web site at Public Libraries Certified for State Aid FY2008.

The projected combined first and second quarter payment to libraries is slated for late October with notice of payment transmittal announced in Show Me Express.  The combined third and fourth quarter payment will be distributed in April.
