Scope and Content
Interstate compacts in this series begin in 1947 and are ongoing. Some compacts, such as the Interstate Compact on Juveniles, were signed by different states over a long period of time and filed with the secretary of state as received. Some of the interstate issues that generated compacts are adoption, state boundaries, criminals, economic development, education, emergency management, juveniles, medical assistance, floodplains, transportation, and waste disposal.
