Scope and Content
This series primarily contains writs of election but also resignations, special election certificates, notice of elections, and some miscellaneous election records. Writs of election are notices to the election authorities of stated counties of the necessity of holding elections within said counties for the purpose of filling vacancies in various offices. The writs are issued and signed by the governor, and attested to by the secretary of state. Special election certificates are notices of special elections for the purpose of voting on issues, such as constitutional amendments.
